Valeriote Goldman Public Health Leadership Project

The Valeriote Goldman Public Health Leadership Project aims to build multi-disciplinary education, dialogue, and student training on public health topics that can serve as a call to action on topics of broad social relevance and to support society’s most marginalized communities to live healthier and more productive lives.

  • The Valeriote Goldman Symposium on Public Health and Social Justice hosts speakers to educate and inform audiences, inspiring active student engagement as well as professional development experiences working for positive social change.

  • The Valeriote Goldman Leadership Program partners SCU Public Health students with local medical and public health leaders for fellowship, dialogue, and experiential learning. The program seeks to:
    • Develop leadership skills among Public Health students, while deepening the commitment to effective and ethical leadership for social change among current and future public health professionals;
    • Provide public health students with deep and relevant experiential learning opportunities through mentored internships, while providing local public health organizations with skilled interns to further their missions; and
    • Build an employment pipeline for SCU students by expanding their professional network and opportunities, while strengthening partnerships between SCU and the surrounding community.
