Strategic Priorities and Goals 

  1. Reaching Out and Fostering Hospitality
    1. Invite all students to participate in a community that engages their spiritual growth.
    2. Create spaces and experiences that are welcoming and engaging, especially for underserved students.
    3. Cultivate habits of being hospitable.
    4. Student outcomes related to this:
      1. Students that regularly interact with Campus ministry will practice hospitality with others.
  2. Journeying with the Sacred
    1. Accompany students in their spiritual growth and development.
    2. Create and expand spaces and experiences for students to encounter God.
    3. Assist students with discernment in light of faith.
    4. Provide liturgical leadership within the SCU community.
    5. Student outcomes related to this:
      1. Students that interact with Campus Ministry will grow and develop spiritually.
      2. Students that interact with Campus Ministry will practice discernment in light of faith.
  3. Modeling a Spirituality of Sustainability
    1. Promote Santa Clara's commitment to sustainability through responsible stewardship of resources.
    2. Educate on the integration between faith and sustainability.
    3. Cultivate the habits of being sustainable.
    4. Student outcomes related to this:
      1. Students who engage with Campus Ministry will cultivate habits of care for creation and for the whole person.
  4. Engaging Religious Diversity
    1. Support students of various religious and philosophical traditions and no tradition.
    2. Cultivate relationships within and across religious traditions in the SCU community.
    3. Model understanding and openness to religious pluralism and diversity.
    4. Increase opportunities for interfaith encounter and dialogue.
    5. Student outcomes related to this:
      1. Students who engage with Campus Ministry will model understanding and openness to religious pluralism and diversity.
  5. Forming Servant Leaders
    1. Empower student leaders to be agents of transformation.
    2. Increase opportunities for servant leadership in all ministries.
    3. Nurture partnerships and collaboration in leadership.
    4. Commission leaders to share their gifts and passions to meet the needs of the world.

    In one corner of campus, the Unity RLC's Imagine Interbelief floor, a collaboration between Campus Ministry and the Office of Housing & Residence Life, along with the linked RSOC 9 class is trying to shift the conversation on religion by highlighting positive stories of people of belief.
