Disability Parking

Friday, June 16

Attendees may park in any blue disability space located throughout campus, especially in the Leavey Center Parking Lot, Main Parking Structure, and North Campus Garage. Please display the ADA placard when parking in these spaces. 

Saturday, June 17

For attendees with a state-issued ADA placard, SCU Campus Safety Services will hold a limited number of spaces in the Main Parking Structure. Please use the main University entrance on Palm Drive off El Camino Real. Stay to the left lane to access the disabled parking area within the Main Parking Structure. Be sure to display the ADA placard in view for the officer. The Main Parking Structure is approximately 200 feet away from the North Gate at Stevens Stadium. 

Mobility Resources

Shuttle Service

Golf cart transportation is available on a first-come, first-serve basis to guests needing mobility assistance. Call-ins for pick-ups are not available due to the crowd size.  Golf carts will be marked with blue flags. Service starts at 3:15 p.m. on June 16th and at 6:30 a.m. on June 17th, primarily servicing the campus parking garages and lots.

This is a limited service and we ask that individuals not requiring extra assistance please respect the needs of those that do. Transportation is limited to one companion rider per guest requiring accommodations. 

Wheelchairs

The University does not carry wheelchairs or any other mobility devices to loan or rent for Commencement exercises. If interested in rentals, please contact a local supplier to make arrangements:

Accessibility

Stevens Stadium's accessible entrance is located at the North Gate. Stay to the right most archway for the designated ADA entry way. The special needs tent is located at the north end of the field. Shaded seating and display monitors with closed captioning are provided. This tent is intended but not limited to handicapped seating. Tickets are not required to sit in this section.

All disabled seating areas are limited to one companion per guest requiring accommodations. It is highly recommend to arrive when gates open to guarantee available seating.

Saturday, June 17

Steven Stadium's accessible entrance is located at the North Gate. Stay to the right most archway for the desingated ADA entry way. The special needs tent is located at the north end of the field. Shaded seating and display monitors with closed captioning are provided. This tent is intended but not limited to handicapped seating. Tickets (part of the six field tickets given to each bachelor's candidate) are required to sit in this section. Other wheelchair seating areas are located throughout the first level of bleacher seating.

All disabled seating areas are limited to one companion per guest requiring accommodations. It is highly recommend to arrive when gates open to guarantee available seating.

Other Resources

  • Closed captioning will be available on the main stage monitors at the Commencement Liturgy and both Commencement ceremonies.
  • Assisted listening devices will be available to those who need them. Indivuduals needing the device should contact the Commencement Office in advance to ensure enough are available on the day of the ceremony. 
  • Locatelli Center serves as a "cooling center" during Undergraduate Commencement. Live streaming of the ceremony, as well as restrooms and water will be available. Tickets are not required. 
  • A live webcast will stream on the Commencement home page on the day of event.
