Faculty & administrators celebrate degree candidates at the 169th commencement exercises

 

Faculty and administrators are invited to participate in the Graduate and Undergraduate Commencement Ceremonies. The details below will guide you through the process.

All administrators and faculty participating in Commencement are required to wear academic attire. Contact the Commencement Office if you have not received an invitation to participate, emailed in mid-April 2020. Your response is essential to ensure the attire rentals arrive in time prior to the ceremony. Attire will be delivered to your academic department by Wednesday, June 3rd.

All pieces of the rented attire must be returned, folded and in the bag in which it was received. Drop-off attire to:

June 12th, 8am-10pm, room tbd
June 13-14th, 8am-5pm, room tbd
June 15th, 8am-5pm, room tbd

Attire must be returned by Monday, June 15th. Departments will be charged $287 for each set of rented attire not returned by the due date.

Friday, June 12th

4:00 p.m. Commencement Liturgy (faculty, graduates and their guests) Stevens Stadium
5:30 p.m. President's Reception (faculty, graduates and their guests) Mission Gardens
7:00 p.m. Line up for academic procession  Front of Schott AES Building
7:30 p.m. Graduate Commencement; Procession begins Stevens Stadium (water bottle & program at each seat)
9:30 p.m. Approx. end of ceremony* Stevens Stadium

Saturday, June 13th

*After the ceremony has concluded, at the direction of the Marshal, those on stage will descend the stage and exit directly out of the stadium.

 

Special permits will be issued to faculty and staff participating in Undergraduate Commencement. These permits will be valid at the parking lot at 990 Benton St., located at the corner of Benton and Lafayette. Avoid parking in the commercial lot behind 900 Lafayette & 1000 Lafayette St.

NOTE: Faculty will sit on both sides of the stage with the Bachelors filling in the rear seats first, Masters sit in front of Bachelors, Doctors sit in front of Masters, Administrators and Honorees sit in the center section of the stage.

 

Participating faculty dressed in academic attire do not need tickets for the ceremonies.

Faculty and staff not participating in the ceremonies wishing to attend Undergraduate Commencement may request up to two (2) tickets starting Monday, June 1st by emailing eventplanningoffice@scu.edu. Requests must be submitted by Thursday, June 11th for consideration. Not all requests may be accommodated due to fire code. Non-affiliates must receive their tickets from a graduating student.
