Tickets are NOT required to attend Graduate Commencement. 

Parking permits will not be required to park on campus on June 16, 2017. Designated blue disability parking spaces will be enforced at all times. All campus parking will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Attire will be available for purchase at the Campus Bookstore beginning June 5, 2017 through Commencement Day. Graduates need NOT place an order for attire in advance. The bookstore will stock enough attire for all graduates to purchase.

The Commencement Packet is provided at no additional cost to the graduate, upon the purchase of academic attire from the Campus Bookstore starting June 5, 2017. 

Line up for the academic procession promptly at 7:00 p.m. on June 16, 2017 on the Alameda Mall & Santa Clara Mall. Please line up behind the appropriate sign in order as indicated by the number on your "name to be read" card (received in the Commencement Packet).

Students are lined up by College or School, then by Program, and finally in alphabetical order by last name.

  1. The level of degree received: the bachelor's hood is 3 feet long, the master's degree is 3.5 feet long, the doctor's degree is 4 feet long with wide panels on either side.
  2. The college or university granting the degree: Santa Clara University hoods are cardinal over white. 
  3. The area of study: dark blue for philosophy (Ph.D), light blue for education and counseling, white for arts and humanities, golden yellow for sciences, orange for engineering, purple for law, drab (brown) for business, scarlet for theology.

On stage, you will receive only your portfolio (diploma case). The diploma will be mailed to you by the Office of the Registrar once the completion of academic requirements has been verified. The mailings will begin in September for June graduates. Any questions about diplomas should be directed to Office of the Registrar at registrar@scu.edu or 408-554-4331.

We respectfully request that attendees bring only small bags and purses. To create and maintain a safe experience, all bags are subject to search. By entering the stadium, you consent to such searches and waive any related claims that you might have.
