Born in Hayward, California and grew up in the neighboring town of San Lorenzo. High school varsity tennis player. College, University of California, Berkeley, with a double major of zoology and genetics, both BA, with honors in genetics. Member of the University of California, Berkeley, crew team for 3 years. After UCB, attended University of California, San Francisco, School of Pharmacy for two years. Medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx New York. Internship and residency at Children's Hospital San Francisco, now known as California Pacific Medical Center. Boarded in general pediatrics. 37 years of private practice pediatrics seeing patients into their 30s. Married with 4 children and many grandchildren. Past Chairman of Pediatrics at El Camino Hospital, Los Gatos. Presently, Vice President of Community Health at the Santa Clara Medical Association. Also, a delegate to the California Medical Association and a member to the Environmental Committee at the Santa Clara Medical Association.
