Dr. Fitzer supports the promotion of student engagement opportunities and works to connect students with various out of the classroom activities. Jason also supports each of the three CSI Assistant Directors and their work with leadership programs, new student and family programs, and registered student organizations. Jason is also the advisor to the Activities Program Board (APB).

Jason has worked at several higher education institutions, including University of the Pacific, Emory University, University of Georgia, University of San Diego, and Sonoma State University in various student engagement roles. Jason received his Bachelor of Science from CSU, Chico in Business Administration and a Master of Education and Doctor of Philosophy degree, both from the University of Georgia in Student Affairs Administration. His dissertation research focused on equity, diversity, and inclusion for students and student affairs professionals.

In addition to his role at Santa Clara, Jason is involved in professional associations and opportunities in higher education. Currently, Jason is involved with NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education and currently serves as the Co-Chair for the 2021 Undergraduate Student Conference. He also volunteers as a facilitator for Kappa Kappa Gamma’s Harm Prevention Education programs and with his own fraternity, Phi Delta Theta.
