Accessibility
From the Student Handbook (see pages 19-20):
- Santa Clara University seeks to respect each person’s dignity and desire for personal growth and accomplishment, and is committed to ensuring that enrolled students with disabilities be given equal opportunity for full participation in all programs without discrimination based on disability. The University will make every reasonable effort to remove existing barriers, whether physical, programmatic, or attitudinal, and to ensure that new barriers are not erected. Santa Clara University is committed to providing access for qualified students with disabilities to University programs. This policy is in line with the University’s nondiscrimination policy, which applies to all qualified participants with disabilities in employment, access to facilities, student programs, activities, and services.
From the Student Handbook (see pages 33-34):
- The Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended requires that the university ensure that all students have equal access to academic and university programs.
Access Policy Statement on Marketing
The following statement about the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 (ADA/504) must be included in all marketing for an event, activity, or meeting:
- "In compliance with the ADA/504, please direct your accommodation requests to [NAME] at [EMAIL ADDRESS OR PHONE]."
For [NAME] fill in the name of the primary student organizing this event, and for [EMAIL ADDRESS OR PHONE] fill in that student's email address or phone number.
Office of Accessible Education
The Office of Accessible Education ensures access for all qualified students with disabilities to all academic programs and University resources. Types of disabilities include medical, physical, psychological, attention-deficit, and learning disabilities. Reasonable accommodations are provided to minimize the effects of a student’s disability and to maximize the potential for success.
The Office of Accessible Education is located in Benson Memorial Center, Room 1.
