Health Education for Teachers (EDUC x601) is a three-week, online course offered through the Center for Professional Development. It is a requirement for those seeking a teaching credential but is not required for graduation from Santa Clara University. The course is graded on a pass/no pass basis.
This course introduces health concepts, skills, and behaviors important for today’s students to make informed choices. Upon completion of the course, candidates will be able to gather, interpret, evaluate, and use health information and topics in their future activities as teachers. It is a fast-paced course and includes written assignments and discussion board posts. No books are required; all resources can be accessed through the online portal.
Please note that registration typically closes 10 days before the course start date. Five days before the start date, registered candidates will receive an emailed link and must accept the course invitation by the course start date.
No candidates will be admitted after the course start date due to the fast-paced nature of the program.
