This hybrid course meets the health education requirement, Standard 10 for SB2042 Preliminary Credential. Upon successful completion of the workshop, students will be able to:
1) Describe the health status of children and youth, describe common chronic and communicable diseases of children and adolescents
2) Develop effective strategies for encouraging the healthy nutrition of children and youth
3) Understand the physiological and sociological effects of alcohol, narcotics, drugs and tobacco
4) Identify ways to support students and their families who may be at risk of physical, psychological, emotional or social health problems.
