Kristy Cross is a native of the Bay Area, born and raised in Campbell, California. She received her B.A. in Spanish from UC Santa Barbara and her M.Ed and Single Subject Teaching Credential the following year from UC Santa Barbara. Kristy began her teaching career in Southern California as a high school Spanish teacher in 2002. In 2006, she became an adjunct faculty member at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California and continued teaching both high school at Woodrow Wilson Classical High School in Long Beach, California and college courses at OCC until 2010 when she was accepted into the Administrator in Residence Program with Green Dot Public Schools in Los Angeles, California. She also received her Administrative Services Credential that same year. In 2011, Kristy took a contractual position with Leadership Public Schools in Oakland, California as a Curriculum Consultant and from 2012-2017, Kristy worked for San José Unified School District as a teacher for one year and a district-wide teacher evaluator for four years. For the last three years, Kristy has been a graduate-level lecturer in Teacher Education and has loved every minute of it. 

Kristy lives in Los Gatos, California and loves spending time with her beloved dogs, traveling, being in nature and being an activist on behalf of social justice issues to promote the welfare of humans and animals.
