Dorothy J. McCrea, Ed.D
School of Education, Catholic School Leadership Program. Annual Yearly Adjunct Lecturer
Having spent over 25 years in secondary education, Dr. McCrea is currently teaching in the Education Leadership Program in the School of Education. Dr. McCrea served as the Principal at Mercy High School, San Francisco for twenty one years and has served in various capacities within Catholic education. She was the President of the Secondary Schools Committee for the National Catholic Education Association and served for six years on their Board of Directors. In addition, she also served as the President of the Mercy Secondary Education Association. Her teaching career includes adjunct positions with the University of San Francisco, Notre Dame de Namur University and the University of Phoenix. In her career, Dr. McCrea also chaired numerous WASC visiting committees for secondary schools. She has a Masters and Doctoral degree from the University of San Francisco. Dr. McCrea’s doctoral focus involved the study of the Mercy charisma and its relationship to school effectiveness.
