First generation college student finds support to become a public school Math Teacher

Lloyd Robinson, a current Master of Arts in Teaching with Teaching Credential student, is the proud 2013-14 recipient of the Edwin Brown, Anita Goble, and ECP Future Teacher scholarships. As a result, Lloyd will be able to achieve his dream of serving diverse students with low socio-economic backgrounds as a future public school Mathematics teacher. Melissa Gilbert to present study on the role of motivation factors in shaping students' academic behaviors and outcomes

Dr. Melissa Gilbert, Assistant Professor of Education, will present her paper Role in Motivation Factors in Shaping Students' Academic Behaviors and Outcomes with her co-author Dr. Lauren Musu-Gillette (University of Maryland) at the annual American Educational Research Association meeting in April 2014. SCU Alum leads Student Disability Services at USF

Tom received his Masters in Special Education from Santa Clara University. Not only did he receive an excellent education, he felt well prepared for the job market and credits the program with having helped him find a job. After graduating, he took a job with USF in a disability specialist position, and moved on to become the Assistant Dean and Director of Student Disability Services.
