The Environmental Justice and the Common Good Initiative collaborates with the organizations listed below and seeks new partnerships that can help to advance community-driven research for environmental justice. 

At SCU

The Center helped to support our launch by serving as fiscal sponsor and website host for the Initiative’s 2019 conference on Environmental Justice and the Common Good.  We continue to work closely together to infuse environmental justice in the university's operations, curriculum, and community outreach. 

The Initiative is contributing to public programming by this project focused on addressing the climate crisis and is participating in tUrn’s Climate Crisis Research Group.

Community-Based Participatory Research Group

The Initiative shares membership with this group and plans to organize co-learning events with it.

In California and Abroad

The Initiative co-organizes events that convene faculty and staff from multiple universities in Northern California to share knowledge about environmental justice teaching and research.

Across Jesuit Higher Education

The Initiative’s Chris Bacon is one of the founding core group of leaders of the organization, which strengthens research, education, and community engagement for environmental and economic justice among AJCUs and builds ties to international Jesuit higher educational institutions.

Members of the Initiative have contributed to this international Jesuit online publication about ecological and social issues and invited editorial team member Fr. Pedro Walpole, S.J., to advise on the formation of the Initiative.
