Congratulations on Completing UIF Training

Congratulations to Mariah Manzano '20 (web design and engineering), Taylor Mau '18 (electrical engineering, computer engineering), Michael Mehta '19 (mechanical engineering), and Connor Tisch '19 (mechanical engineering), who have completed training to join the University Innovation Fellows (UIF), a global program empowering student leaders to increase campus engagement with innovation, entrepreneurship, creativity and design thinking. Funding for SCU's team comes from a $6,000 grant from KEEN. The UIF program is run by Stanford University's Hasso Plattner Institute of Design ( Supported by Chris Kitts (mechanical engineering), who heads the School of Engineering's innovation and entrepreneurial thinking initiatives, with assistance by Anne Mahacek (mechanical engineering), these fellows have gone through 6 weeks of online training and have performed exercises here on campus in which they rooted out the various programs, activities, and opportunities related to innovation and entrepreneurial thinking found at SCU (mapping our "innovation ecosystem") . Next, they determined and proposed ways they can contribute to strengthening the ecosystem and developed a plan of action. Find their strategic priorities here. In March, all University Innovation Fellows from across the country will participate in a meetup at Stanford. As he has for the past several years, Kitts will give a kickoff presentation to all the UIF students from KEEN schools.
