Dat Tran, S. J.

Fr. Dat Tran, S. J. is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He joined the SCU faculty in September 2020. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Portland State University, Portland, OR in 1994 and 1996. He worked for Tektronix, Inc from 1996 to 1999 as a software design engineer. In 1999, he entered the Society of Jesus and went through the Jesuit formation. He received an MDiv. degree at Jesuit School Theology at Santa Clara in 2009. In 2019, he received a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Portland State University, Portland, OR. His research focuses on bio-inspired computing systems, particularly neuromorphic computing systems with emergent nanodevices.
