Matthew J. Gaudet is a Lecturer of Engineering Ethics at Santa Clara University and is currently serving as co-chair of the Society of Christian Ethics Task Force on Contingency. His research lies at the intersection of Moral Theology and Social Science, with a particular interest in the topics of disability ethics, technology ethics, ethics of war and peace, and university ethics.

Gaudet has co-edited several issues of the Journal of Moral Theology, including special issues on the Ethics of Contingent Faculty, University Ethics (forthcoming summer 2020), and Artificial Intelligence (forthcoming 2021). His work has appeared in The Journal of the Society of Christian Ethics, the Journal of Moral Theology, the Journal of Peace and Justice Studies, Teaching Theology and Religion, and the Encyclopedia of Disability History, as well as popular periodicals such as The Chronicle of Higher Education, America Magazine, and the National Catholic Reporter.
