Welcome to the Maker Lab
The Maker Lab is located in Guadalupe Hall (455 El CaminoReal, Rm 301) and is available to SCU students, staff, faculty, and affiliates. Equipment-specific training and demonstration of competency is required for the use of specific equipment located in the Maker Lab. Training sessions, open hours, and other important information for the Maker Lab can be found on our calendar.
WE'VE MOVED: We have moved to Guadalupe Hall on the third floor. It's a beautiful, larger facility that is now housing the Maker Lab! If you want access to this new wonderland, you will have to GO THROUGH BASIC TRAINING AGAIN. Please check the calendar for times of trainings as we should have several trainings posted per week.
Several Maker Lab training sessions will be held throughout the year, with times posted on the calendar. There are several types of training courses, each relevant to the use of specific Lab equipment. The Basic Training class is the first class to take, and it is a prerequisite for all other training courses. Space is limited. *Students should bring their photo ID to the training sessions. To enroll, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
SCU students, staff and faculty who have completed Basic Training are allowed access to the Maker Lab during Open Hours. The schedule for Open Hours are posted on the calendar and participation is approved on a first come, first served basis.
A minimum of 3 students must sign up for the training or it will be canceled.
Open hours are run by Maker Lab Supervisors. We offer both scheduled times and on-call based on availability. Supervisors are only allowed to supervise based on the level of training they have completed. This information can be found in event details on the Maker Lab calendar.
