The MakerBot is a hobby class prototyping machine that heats up solid plastic to print 3D parts. We have phased out the MakerBots in the Maker Lab, but have two in our Mobile Maker Trailer for outreach.


Quick Reference

Training Required: Basic Training and 3D Printer Training

Workspace: 250x160x150mm (9.8x6.2x5.9 inches)

Material Fees: School-related prints are free. Personal prints are charged based on material use.

Software

Software for creating 3D model:

You can use any 3D modeling software that can save as a STL, 3MF, or OBJ. Here are some free options.

AutoDesk Suite offers free software. Recommend Fusion 360 for experienced or TinkerCAD for beginners

SketchUp offers free software
