Communicaty Outreach: Claudia McIsaac

In Claudia McIsaac's Creative Writing and Social Justice course (ENGL 126), students worked with community partners confronting issues of homelessness, immigration, and literacy.  Students' community placements ranged from Escuela Popular where students taught adult ESL to local elementary schools where students tutored English and math and also got out on the playground to play ball. Working with homeless people through organizations such as Martha's Kitchen and Believers in Christ, other students participated in group prayer, served meals, washed dishes, and visited with clients.
