HOUSING PARENT NEWSLETTER - JUNE 2013

HostedbyMP-PriceisRight

Amazing Year at SCU Comes to a Close!

In less than two weeks the graduating seniors will walk across the commencement stage, students will finish their third set of finals of the year, and on-campus residents will pack-up their belongings and move-out of the residence halls! We earnestly hope your student has had a meaningful  & enriching Residential Learning Community experience within their respective residence hall! The end of the year has been replete with exciting events such as various award nights highlighting the numerous achievements of our phenomenal students, celebratory end of the year dinners held by student clubs & organizations, and exciting Residential Learning Community events such as Mr. RLC, Relay for Life, SCUCHELLA, the SLURP Success Fest and The Price is Right!

The information in this newsletter should be of assistance as your student transitions out of campus housing for the summer. Please keep an eye out for the Parent Newsletter during the summer months! If your student is moving off-campus for the coming academic year and you'd like to be removed from our email list, please do email the Housing Office with your request to be removed.

MOVE-OUT PROCESS & INFORMATION

SPRING 2013 MOVE-OUT!!

RESIDENCE HALLS CLOSE AT 9PM, THURSDAY, JUNE 13!

As you know by now, the residence halls (with the exception of University Villas) close at 9:00PM on Thursday, June 13. The University Villas close at 9:00PM on Wednesday, June 19.

We highly encourage students to begin the process of packing their room now if they have not yet begun this process! If you live locally, perhaps consider picking up a load of your student's belongings during the weekend to alleviate and lighten the load on their designated move-out date. Below you'll find additional information regarding the Bronco Student Service's Summer Storage options for those who need an affordable means by which to store belongings throughout the summer months!

In the event your student is in need of clarification regarding the move-out process and the various steps required to successfully move-out with minimal stress, we highly encourage your student speak with their Community Facilitator/Neighborhood Representative or any of the professional staff members (Resident Director/Area Coordinator) within their residence hall.

BRONCO STUDENT SERVICES SUMMER STORAGE

If your student hasn't yet found a solution for storing their belongings during the summer months, you may want to consider Bronco Student Services Summer Storage. With the storage service students don't have to coordinate the transport of their belongings off-campus or deal with the hassle of trying to secure a space at a local storage location. With this service, students simply make a reservation on-line, pack their items in boxes provided by the service, drop off the boxes on-campus or have the packed boxes picked up at their residence hall. The belongings are safely stored for the entire summer and/or throughout the Fall quarter!

Reserve by June 7th and SAVE!!
