Associate Director of HR, Workforce Planning
As the Associate Director of HR for Workforce Planning, Joan oversees and is responsible for staffing, recruitment, the classification and compensation program, performance management and Kids on Campus. Joan serves as an integral member of the HR leadership team and serves on University committees in her effort to serve the HR needs of faculty, staff, and students and ensure strategic objectives are being met.
Joan joined Santa Clara University in 2012. Prior to coming to the University, she was at San Jose State University for 10 years and has served in various HR roles. Joan has worked in various areas in HR such as Benefits, Payroll, HR Information System, Risk Management, Training & Development, Wellness and Workforce Planning. She received her undergraduate degree in International Business from the University of San Francisco, her master’s degree in Sociology from San Jose State University, and her doctoral degree in Organization & Leadership from the University of San Francisco. She obtained her Professional Human Resources certification in 2007 and her SHRM, Senior Certified Professional in 2015.
