Dear Staff,

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your tremendous work and collaboration to support our students and one another over the past few weeks, as many have and continue to struggle with the effects of the losses of community members and the ongoing pandemic. 

As we continue to receive ideas and explore different resources we can provide to assist the community, I would like to inform you of a brief online course: At Risk Mental Health for Faculty and StaffThe course provides an overview about psychological distress and its impact on college students; recognizing signs of distress; communication strategies when talking to a student; what to do if you are concerned about a student; and referring students who may be experiencing suicidal ideation to resources and support. To access this course, follow these steps:

  1. Using a compatible browser, such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, navigate to
  2. Create a new account by selecting “Click Here” located above the email and password fields.
  3. Follow the prompts and enter the Enrollment Key for Faculty/Staff: santaclaraemployee
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to access the course page.
  5. Select the desired simulation tile and click “Launch” to begin the course.
