Personal/Professional Consulting Services
Human Resources Organizational Learning and Development offers a variety of personal and professional consulting services. These programs and benefits are available to all faculty and staff on campus. All appointments will be at the Human Resources Service Center, Benson Room 203. For more information on the following services, please contact the HR Service Desk at extension 4392.
Employee Emergency Loan Program (EELP)
EELP loans are meant to provide assistance to employees who find themselves facing a financial emergency. The maximum amount of money that can be borrowed is $2,000.00. Repayment is made through semi-monthly payroll deductions authorized by the borrower. There is no interest charged on employee emergency loans. Repayment periods vary from one to two years, depending on the size of the loan.
Financial Planning and Retirement Planning

Fidelity Investments One on One Counseling
Representatives from Fidelity Investments provide one on one retirement counseling to employees. This is a confidential, half hour appointment that can be scheduled by directly contacting Fidelity Investments at 1-800-642-7131.
Financial Consultations with Joe Crowley
Joe Crowley is the university's financial counselor for faculty and staff. He offers 50 minute, confidential appointments to assist you in making wise financial decisions from buying a home or investing in the stock market to money market accounts and other investment options. To schedule an appointment, select "Joe Crowley" and your preferred appointment time from the Benefits Calendar.
TIAA-CREF One on One Consultations
Representatives from TIAA-CREF provide one on one retirement counseling to employees. This is a confidential, half hour appointment that can be scheduled by directly contacting TIAA-CREF at (800) 842-2007, extension 1001. You can also sign up through the TIAA-CREF website here.
Tuition Remission (employees and qualified dependents)
Santa Clara University education benefits provide opportunities for personal and educational development for all benefits eligible employees taking SCU courses for credit. Spouses and children pursuing an academic degree (matriculating) will be granted tuition remission for one degree, either graduate or undergraduate.Learn More »

FMLA - Family Medical Leave
The University provides leaves of absence to enable employees to attend to personal and professional obligations and for periods of disability. The policy for workers covered by a collective bargaining agreement is contained in that agreement. All requests for leaves should be submitted to the Human Resources department for approval.Learn More »
