Margaret Higgins, Director of Mission Integration

Margaret M.Higgins joined the ICJE in the summer of 2022 to serve as the inaugural Director of Mission Integration. In this role, Margaret will partner to amplify existing and create new structures, programs and networks throughout the University to engage and animate SCU’s Jesuit, Catholic mission. 

Margaret’s career has spanned three decades of c-suite and senior leadership in Catholic Higher Education, with over 15 years in Jesuit education. She has served in executive positions in student affairs, administration, and development, including serving as President/CEO Cristo Rey San José Jesuit High School. Margaret is returning to SCU, having served in University Relations. Most recently, Margaret was a Fellow in the Inspired Leadership Program at the University of Notre Dame. 

In each role, Margaret worked with members of the university community and external stakeholders to ensure the mission, student success, and sustainability were achieved. She inspired a commitment to the spiritual, intellectual, and professional development of future college graduates and leaders with a particular emphasis on first generation students and their families. She is at home in Jesuit education.

Higgins has earned a B.S. in communication disorders from the College of Saint Rose, a M.Ed. in guidance and counseling from Springfield College and a PhD in educational administration and policy from The Catholic University of America. Her dissertation research is on the transformational behaviors of Catholic university presidents in the development of vision.
