At the heart of Ignatian spirituality lies gratitude – gratitude for, to, and in order to. In his Spiritual Exercises, Ignatius invites us to be grateful for all the good things we have received, and to direct our gratitude to God. Our thanksgiving helps us serve God by becoming more generous to others. The more our service is rooted in thankfulness for what we have been given, the more we are able to give back to others freely.
