Same Mission, New Normal

Although the start of this school year looks very different from past years, the Ignatian Center continues to offer our SCU students, faculty, and staff programming that exemplifies the Jesuit, Catholic character of the University. I could not be more proud of the way the Center’s team has rolled up its sleeves to reinvent our programs in our remote context. I am so impressed with the fruits of this feat of innovation and excited to share with you a glimpse into the programs we are offering this fall. As always, they were created to ensure that the Ignatian tradition remains a grounding force for us especially in these unprecedented times.

While the path may be different, we remain steadfast in our mission to enhance the distinctively Jesuit, Catholic character of SCU - here, there, and everywhere.

Interim Executive Director

Though this Fall quarter is taking place remotely, we continue to provide opportunities for SCU students to deepen their understanding of social justice issues. From virtual immersion "trips" to Bannan Forum lectures, students are able to experience the true meaning of a Jesuit Education and become people for others.

With SCU's continued social-distancing requirements, we created some remote ways for our faculty and staff to remain engaged with each other and with our shared mission. Through these programs, we have provided ways for SCU faculty and staff to deepen their understanding of SCU’s Jesuit, Catholic mission, to make it their own, and to discover and experience some of the many faces of Ignatian spirituality.
