Ignatian spirituality is built on the conviction that God inspires our deepest and most important insights as we gradually reflect on our experiences. I have often seen that Immersion trips turn out to be the “aha” moment of Jesuit university education. Not only do students learn about people who are facing poverty, marginalization, and injustice, but more importantly, they learn from those people. |

Experiencing the world through the voices and eyes of others teaches students that in our globalized world, all of our daily lives are inextricably linked. The Ignatian Center’s summer Immersions are taking students to diverse locations ranging from downtown San Jose to the Mexican border; from the Dominican Republic to Guyana and India. Experiences like these affect students' sense of who and how they are now. Through reflection will come new perspectives and new commitments that will shape who our students become, and the world they will help build.
