Welcome to all incoming students for the fall semester! Here you will find the orientation schedules for the weeks of August 19, 2019 (for all international students in degree programs) and August 26, 2019 (for all new students, including domestic and international students). As well, you will find communications to prepare you for your arrival, and the latest edition of the Student Resource Guide.
Please Note: The trip to the Oakland Cathedral on Friday, August 30, has been canceled.
All international students in degree programs are expected to attend. Renewal sabbatical students: you are on retreat this week.

All students, both domestic and international, in all programs are expected to attend (with the exception of Online MTS students, who should check with the Online MTS Program Director for their orientation schedule).

Student Resource Guide
Please use this document as a guide for your journey at JST and as an introduction to topics covered more fully at Orientation. You will find links (in blue text) to informational materials on the websites of the Jesuit School of Theology, of Santa Clara University, of the Graduate Theological Union, and of certain off-campus resources. Further sections will be posted here in the upcoming weeks to Orientation.
Part 1. Getting Settled in Berkeley Look here for information on getting to and around the Bay Area, places to visit in Berkeley, local entertainment, and farmers’ markets. You will also find information about how to register your car, register to vote, and get a driver’s license or identification card.
Part 2. Getting Started at JST You can find information here about academic questions, the SCU e-campus portal and your SCU e-mail account, SCU, GTU and UCB ID/Library cards, registering for classes, ordering books, working with Moodle, student health insurance, financial aid, finances and payment, and cross-registration to the University of California in Berkeley.
Part 3. GTU, JST/SCU and Local Resources Here you will find contact information for the GTU, JST/SCU, local and GTU places of worship, recreational resources, mental health resources, the physical facilities at JST, spiritual direction and formation, liturgy and community life, sustainability efforts, disability resources, communications and social media, safety on campus, student employment and career services.
Part 5. Forms Electronic access and paper versions of the most commonly needed forms for Student Life, the Registrar and SCU are included.
