Released in 2013, this study guide from the USCCB offers an ecumencial study of the famous “Letter from a Birmingham Jail,” written by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., during imprisonment following a civil protest. You can find the full text of the letter here.

Xavier University of Louisiana

The only Catholic university classified as an HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities), Xavier University of Louisiana offers many theological resources regarding theology from a Black perspective. Specifically, its Institute of Black Catholic Studies offers seminar and degree courses to help the faithful deepen their commitments and skillsets in this tradition of the Church.

National Catholic Education Association

A great resource, which assists the USCCB in the ministry of education, for Catholic Educators. The NCEA released a Statement on Human Life and Dignity after Charlottesville, which includes further resources. Elsewhere, the NCEA links to “First Encounters with Race and Racism: Teaching Ideas for Classroom Conversations,” published in the New York Times.
