Tina Bird was born and raised in the Bay Area. She attended Stanford, majoring in biology, then Tufts School of Medicine in Boston. She returned for training and worked at Kaiser in Redwood City in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology for 18 years. Since retiring from full time practice at Kaiser, she has been volunteering at Samaritan House free clinic in Redwood City.
Tina has been involved with other non-profits including Planned Parenthood, multiple local school districts, as well as start up device companies in the women’s health area. She has always been passionate about providing opportunity for those from less advantaged backgrounds, especially in supporting access to STEM fields.
Tina and her husband have three sons, ages 25, 22 and 20. Her free time is spent playing tennis, biking, skiing and traveling.
