Norman Paris is a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.  He joined Santa Clara University in 2009 primarily teaching physics courses, but has taught exclusively math courses since 2014.  He earned his M.S. and Ph.D.  from the University of California at Davis in Physics, and a B.S in Physics and a B.A. in Mathematics from San Jose State University.  Norman often teaches the introductory calculus sequence, MATH 11-14, and has implemented active learning strategies in these courses.  He has worked with former students by creating small projects that bridge the gap between physics and mathematics that show the real-world application of topics discussed in the classroom.
