Hello, Lev!

"I knew I wanted to transition to university libraries, and Santa Clara’s commitment to social justice and service were a major attraction to me. These were values shared by my previous institution. Santa Clara feels like an extension of home."

We’re pleased to welcome Lev Rickards as the newest member of the SCU Library leadership team!

His role— Associate University Librarian for Collections & Scholarly Communications— is central to the health and development of our library collections, and the IT systems that link them all. Another major part of his work is to help the library demonstrate a strong commitment to Open Access, a global movement to provide research and educational resources online for free.

Lev comes to us from the Bahá'í World Centre in Haifa, Israel, where for five years he was the collection manager for their library and archives, and an advisory board member. He holds a Master of Science in Information from University of Michigan. Outside of work he enjoys volunteering, playing the banjo, and exploring the Bay Area with his wife and their young children.
