Minor in Computer Science (Prior to Fall 2016)

Students who arrived prior to Fall 2016 who wish to switch to the new minor requirements should contact the Chair of Mathematics and Computer Science and give their student ID numbers.

Lower Division Courses
  • CSCI 10 (Introduction to Computer Science [C++]), 60 (Object Oriented Programming), 61 (Data Structures)
  • MATH 12 (Calculus and Analytic Geometry II) or MATH 51 (Discrete Mathematics)
  • Computer Engineering 20 (Assembly) and 21 (Logic Design)
Upper Division Courses

A student minoring in computer science must take three upper-division computer science courses. In place of an upper-division computer science course, a student may select from Math 144 (PDEs), 176 (Combinatorics), or 177 (Graph Theory).

The Department also cooperates with Santa Clara University's Center for Science, Technology, and Society in the interdisciplinary Minor in Information Technology and Society.
