Our new department chair Frank Farris took to the runway at Bridges, the international conference on mathematical connections in art, music, architecture, education, and culture. His main reason for attending was to present a paper called "Music from Vibrating Wallpaper," but Farris also participated in the first annual Bridges Fashion Show. The shirt was designed by Farris and printed by a company called PAOM (Print All Over Me). Farris also showed his film, "In a State of Patterns," based on movies of vibrating wallpaper patterns. The conference was held in Stockholm, Sweden, in late July this year.
