Markkula Center of Applied Ethics

Bay Area Consortium

The Center has joined three other ethics centers in the Bay area to form a consortium to study the role of values in the institutions which govern economic life. Initially, working groups are being formed to assess current work on the nature of corporate life and the role values play in productivity, and to examine the implications of international business competitiveness for public policy. The consortium, which includes social scientists and ethicists from the University of California at Berkeley, Stanford University, and Graduate Theological Union, was convened by the Center for Ethics and Social Policy in Berkeley through a three year matching grant from the Walter and Elise Haas Fund.
