    The work of Kate Bezrukova (Psychology) about team chemistry predicting winners ahead of baseball season was featured in ESPN magazine.

    Business Insider ran a story ranking SCU as one of the top 10 business undergraduate degrees that are “worth the money,” stemming from a report from compensation firm PayScale.

  •  Mike Gilleran

     Mike Gilleran (ISLE) spoke to KGO and KQED radio, the San Jose Mercury News, and the KPIX-TV show After the Game, about a decision by the Federal Labor Relations Board to allow student football players at Northwestern University to unionize, against the wishes of the NCAA. Also, ISLE’s award to two organizations fighting brain concussions was noted in Entertainment Close-up and Close-up Media.

    Brian Love (Law) was quoted in stories that ran in many dozens of outlets, including the New York Times, Fortune, Mercury News, CNBC, AFP news wire, Lawyer Herald, The Recorder, and Bloomberg Businessweek, about the rationale for Apple to pursue an injunction against Samsung. He also spoke to the New York Times about the judge in the case, Lucy Koh, and to the Recorder about a patent judge’s comments about litigation reform.

    Francisco Jimenez (Modern Languages and Literature) was featured on the NBC central coast affiliate KSBY and in the Lompoc Record and the Santa Maria Times for his visit to an elementary school to discuss his family's struggles in the agricultural fields which are chronicled in his best-selling books.

    William Rewak, S.J. (Chancellor) discussed the process of selecting a commencement speaker with KLIV Radio. 

  •  Meir Statman

    Meir Statman (Finance) was quoted in a CNNMoney story about ongoing economic fears years after the Great  Recession. His comments in a WSJ article about paying for a child’s education were also carried in a story in the Tennessean.  

  •  Eric Goldman

    Eric Goldman (Law) was quoted in MediaPost about the FTC investigating a Pinterest contest and  on NPR’s Marketplace about the Target hacking case. He was also quoted in a CNN story that ran in at least 50 sites, about how Gmail is not “free” because of the personal data it captures, and in a Fox News story about China’s Baidu search engine, stemming from a Forbes piece he wrote on the topic. He was also quoted by JDSupra, Bloomberg BNA, Associated Press (for a story that ran in at least two dozen outlets); TechDirt, MediaPost, and the San Francisco Chronicle on various tech-law topics. 

  •  Dale Achabal

    Dale Achabal (Marketing/RMI) was quoted in stories in the San Jose Mercury News, which ran in 11 other publications or sites, and KGO radio, about Safeway being bought by the owners of Albertson’s chain. 

  •  Hersh Shefrin

    A study on the downside of technical trading by Hersh Shefrin (Finance) was featured in a Reuters story that ran in at least 10 publications or sites including CNBC,  Business Day Live, Business Standard India, and Yahoo! India. The popular blog Motley Fool also wrote about the study.
