Campus Life and Activities
A robust offering of unique virtual events, virtual leagues, and recreational activities are designed help students enrich their collegiate experience.
Athletics and Campus Recreation
Campus recreation will look very different this winter as we continue to adhere to our local health department guidelines. Indoor recreation facilities remain closed but the Outdoor Fitness Area and Bellomy Track are open to essential faculty and staff, and students who are tested on a weekly basis. In the winter quarter, we plan to open a weight room space on the first floor of the parking garage. Due to the move to the purple tier in Santa Clara County we are still determining what this means for this potential space.
We are offering a variety of Stay At Home Options to stay active from the comfort of your own home with fitness classes, sports drills, and other activities including journaling, meditation, and cultural tours.
All club sports competitions and formal and organized practices are suspended for winter 2021. However, club sport teams are permitted to have virtual bonding sessions, such as movie nights or game nights. We are not currently accepting new members for club sports, but all are welcome to join the virtual bonding events.
Similar to the fall quarter, we will continue to offer Virtual IMLeague offerings this winter. In addition we will offer special events like trivia nights, scavenger hunts, 5k events, and more. Intramural sports are a great opportunity for the SCU community to build friendships and enjoy some friendly competition with each other. The virtual IM league offerings will run throughout the quarter with a regular season followed by playoffs and at the conclusion a Champion will be crowned. Special events, registration and rules will differ so look for information as those events come up throughout the quarter.
