Lisa Millora, Ph.D.
Senior Assistant Provost Strategic Initiatives and Provost's Office Relations
Dr. Millora works with the Provost to advance the University's strategic agenda and priorities, including projects related to STEM, innovation, and entrepreneurship. She manages the development, coordination, and communication of top-priority projects within the Provost's Office; develops and directs planning/strategy documents, research briefs, and special reports; and works with other units and campus leaders to support marketing, communication, and fundraising efforts.
Prior to being named senior assistant provost, Dr. Millora worked closely with the Provost to support the development of Santa Clara 2020, the University's integrated strategic plan. From 2003-2007, she served as an assistant dean in the Office of Student Life where she worked on a variety of initiatives to educate and support students, including a two-year project funded by a grant she received the U.S. Department of Justice to prevent and reduce violent crimes against women.
Dr. Millora earned a B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Boston College. She earned an M.A. and Ph.D. from UCLA in Education with a focus on Higher Education and Organizational Change. Her research concerns intersections among higher education, civic engagement, and social change, and she has a keen interest in how the politics of race, religion, and gender affect those relationships in a diverse democracy. She has presented and published on the influence of college students' international education experiences on global engagement, students' understanding of race and national identity, and differences in students' psychological well-being among different racial groups.
