Swim Lessons

Santa Clara University is proud to provide private swimming lessons to a range of swimmers, with any and all levels of experience. We happily provide lessons to swimmers six months and up. Lessons are planned to be swimmer-specific and address the concerns of each individual.

When are the lessons?

Spring lessons are provided for 4 weeks. Lessons cost $80 for four 25 minute Saturday lessons.

Dates: April 26, May 3, 10, 17

Swimmers can choose from the following timeslots:

Morning:

10:30AM- 10:55AM FULL

11:00AM – 11:25AM FULL

11:30AM – 11:55AM FULL

12:00PM- 12:25PM FULL

Due to our pool only having one shallow lane, we can only offer two spots per time slot UNLESS the swim lesson participant is able to swim in deeper water. In that case, we will allow additional spots per time slot.

Summer lessons will be posted in late May. Please check back for dates and times. Summer lessons are in two week sessions. E-mail aquatics@scu.edu to be notified when the lessons are posted on this website.

How do I sign up?

Please fill out the registration form for summer lessons – click title: Registration Form for Spring Lessons. This form can be faxed to 408-551-7180 or emailed and called in with a credit card number for processing payment (408)551-7182. We strongly discourage e-mailing your credit card information.

You will be emailed a receipt upon registration. If the time you have requested as your number one choice is not available you will be called to determine which time works best for you of available openings.

If we do not have a spot for you we will place you on a waiting list. We will notify you that you are on the waiting list. Your payment information on the above form will be shredded and not processed until a spot is open for you. We will contact you when a spot opens to ensure you are still available and take payment at that time.

What kind of experience do the instructors have?

All swim instructors are current SCU students with experience teaching lessons, as well as current Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications.

What is the Campus Recreation cancellation/no show policy?

Campus Recreation does not provide make-up lessons for lessons missed for personal reasons. Classes will not be extended for late arrivals.

Refunds will be given for individual classes missed due to pool issues or for medical reasons when accompanied by a doctor's note.

Full refunds will be given when 14 days notice is given, less a cancellation fee of $40. All refund requests must be submitted via email to aquatics@scu.edu.

All refunds, once approved, will take 4-6 weeks to process and you will be mailed a check to the address you provided for your refund.
