Access Card & Office

The Faculty Development Program in the Provost's Office developed a resource in 2020 to help new faculty of all ranks get started at Santa Clara University. The New Faculty QuickStart Guide is a Camino "course" that includes four modules:

  • About SCU
  • Getting Started
  • Supporting Students
  • Enhancing Teaching

The "Getting Started" module includes key contacts for faculty, separate guides by rank (QSAL, AYAL/RTL/SL, TT), and a downloadable pdf document for everyone that includes sections on your Access Card, required sexual harassment training, paycheck, parking, and IT (email, eCampus, Workday, WiFi, the Camino LMS, and Media Services for your classes), as well as basic course information about syllabi standards, book orders, class rosters, grading, course evaluation, and accessible education.

Faculty Development also runs annual orientation sessions for new faculty.
