Amy Urling ’95 was appointed "Teacher of the Year" for Northfield Middle and High School. Amy has been teaching high school science for 15 years.
Jill Klees M.A. ’95 is the newest member of the Career Center team at Santa Clara. Jill is the counselor for alumni as well as graduate students in counseling psychology, education, and pastoral ministries.
Jill has worked in the career coaching field for more than 15 years in both academic and corporate environments. She gained extensive experience working in startup, nonprofit, and technology-based industries providing career-related resources within the Silicon Valley marketplace.
Jill has extensive programming experience in developing innovative tools and resources to prepare her clients for the workforce and is highly skilled in helping her clients determine their unique talents and strengths. She holds a master’s degree in counseling from Santa Clara University and a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Behavior from the University of San Francisco.
Josh Hicks ’95, J.D. ’98 is a new shareholder at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, a firm practicing in the areas of real estate, natural resources, public policy, corporate, and litigation. Hicks is a member of the firm’s government relations department and taxation group. His tax practice focuses on Nevada state and local tax matters, ranging from tax planning to litigated tax controversies. Hicks’ government affairs practice focuses on representation before the Nevada Legislature, local governments and state government agencies. In addition, Hicks practices in all aspects of Nevada campaign finance and election law, including all aspects of ballot initiatives.
Brian Zacharias ’96 is a new principal to the Financial and Forensic Consulting Service Group of Hemming Morse, LLP, a national accounting firm. He joins from Burr Pilger Mayer, Inc., where Zacharias was a senior manager.
Kenton Chow ’86, MBA ’96 is now the Chief Operating Officer of RetailNext, Inc., the leading big data analytics software company for physical retail stores worldwide. He and his wife of 19 years, Teri, live in Almaden Valley in San Jose with their two daughters, Kendra 17, and Kianna 14.
Kristi Martinez ’97, Chad O'Hara and daughter Sabine welcomed baby girl Deryn Josie O'Hara on August 18. The family lives in San Carlos.
Kim Gibbons MBA ’97 joined technology start-up NetNumber as its Chief Marketing Officer in November 2013. Kim lives with her family in Sunnyvale, Calif.
Jimmy Dutra '97 will join a crowded race for the 4th District County Supervisor seat in Santa Clara County.
While at Santa Clara University, Dutra was chosen among thousands of applicants to be a White House intern for President Bill Clinton. While at the White House Dutra worked in the Office of Presidential Personnel, as well as in First Lady Hillary Clinton's office.
Dutra has worked on some high-profile campaigns, including a California Gubernatorial campaign and former vice presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro's NY Senate race.
More recently, Dutra has been working for the family business, Dutra Farms, and operating Jimmy's Pumpkins on East Lake Avenue each fall. He is 38.
The election is in June.
David Blanar '97 writes, "Hallo from England! I recently wrapped up an MA in Systematic Theology & Philosophy from the University of Nottingham—yep, you read that right. Really enjoyable work, it brought back lots of memories and made me all the more grateful for Fr. Tollini's lectures. Much love from overseas!"
Sheri Lara ’99 and Ronald Lalangan were married at Mission Santa Clara on August 17. The happy couple were surrounded by their family and friends, including fellow Bronco Susan Lalangan Vaughan who served as a bridesmaid.
Daniel Goodman MBA ’99 writes: "After 8 1/2 years of owning my own retail business I decided it was time to marry my financial analysis skills to my customer service skills and become a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual. Whereas I used to help people brew beer and make wine, now I get to help them achieve their most amazing futures, helping them plan and achieve financial strength and security."

Linus Lau ’00 has been Chair for the Music Video, Film and Television Program at Musicians Institute since December of 2012, in addition to adjunct lecturer of Film Studies at Long Beach City College. He is also the composer of the upcoming feature "Bread and Butter," starring Bobby Moynihan of Saturday Night Live.
Anna Weyher ’01 is the principal investigator and founder of the Kasanka Baboon Project, formed in 2010 for the study of a group of Kinda baboons (Papio cynocephalus kindae) in Kasanka National Park, Zambia.

"You don't want to wait until your child hits rock bottom and is expelled from school or in the hospital. Early intervention is important."
Brendan O’Brien ’01 and Lauren (Russell) O’Brien ’02 welcomed their second boy Declan Charles on April 5, 2013. The family, with their oldest son Liam and dog Burger, currently live in Burlingame, Calif.
Angel Diaz ’99 and Alma Diaz Parra ’01 welcomed their first child, Eduardo Angel, on September 7, 2011. The family resides in Los Angeles.

Mark Davis '01 and Rachel Davis are delighted to announce the arrival of their third child, Clara Mariam Davis, who was born at home on Nov. 22, 2013. Best wishes to all of the SCU alumni and their families!
Kristin (Simms) Byrnes ’01, M.Div. ’05 is happy to be back in the Bay Area and teaching at Archbishop Mitty High School, after serving for two years with Volunteer Missionary Movement in San Nicolás, Nicaragua. She and her husband, Billy, welcomed their first child, William James Byrnes on October 17, 2013. He has since blessed their lives with so much joy and love that they overlook the sleepless nights. They hope to return to Nicaragua soon for a visit, to introduce their son to the many friends they left behind.
Jennifer (Cooke) Bauer ’01, MBA ’11 married Jeffrey Bauer MBA ’11 on Saturday, July 27, 2014 in Burlingame, Calif. Cindy (Barrango) Rodondi ’01 served as a bridesmaid. Many SCU undergraduates and MBA graduates were in attendance from the classes of ’01 and ’11 respectively. The happy couple lives in San Jose, Calif.
Ellie (Taft) Morrissey ’02 and husband Sam are thrilled to welcome their daughter Sadie Elise, born May 29, 2013. The happy family lives in Pasadena, Calif. and is visited often by proud Grandpa Jim Taft ’72.
