STAFF TOWN HALL & STAFF SENATE MEETING, February 10, 2022
- Mental Health -- Every Monday from 5:00-6:30PM there is a drop-in Grief Support Group in Benson #201 for students (no registration required). Staff are encouraged to take the brief online Kognito course: At Risk Mental Health for Faculty and Staff (see: https://www.scu.edu/hr/hr-newsletters-html-email/kognito/).
- Informal Benefits -- Work is being finalized on updating Staff Retiree Informal Benefits Policy 624. Some items include Information Services planning out a retiree email program that may be ready by the end of the calendar year. Retirees can also get a special campus ID card from the ACCESS office to stay active in our Malley Fitness Center. While Adobe Lodge remains closed to focus on student needs in other meal venues, it may open for dining during Spring quarter. Retirement for staff is considered 20+ years of service.
- Collaborative Governance and University Finance Task Force -- An interim report is almost ready to distribute to campus stakeholders. The task force will soon be sending out a survey to Senators for further input , so please make sure to reach out to your Senators or Staff Senate at-large with any feedback regarding university governance or finances.
- Staff Affairs Committee -- The committee is focusing tasks and priorities on updating Policy 307 Telecommuting with HR, making recommendations to SCU’s promotion structure and policies, and developing a routine process for a comprehensive review of the Staff Policy Manual on a frequent basis.

PROPOSED STAFF SENATE BYLAWS CHANGES
The Staff Senate Elections & Bylaws Committee would like to propose some amendments to the Staff Senate Bylaws.Please take a moment to review the proposals HERE for more information about these changes. All staff members are encouraged to attend the Staff Senate meeting scheduled for March 10th from 1:00-2:30PM to discuss and vote on these changes.
BOOSTER SHOT VERIFICATION
Remember to get your booster shot as soon as you are eligible. You will be required to upload your updated vaccination information into Workday by March 17, 2022. Additional information on how to upload your booster vaccination information into Workday will be provided later in January. If you already received a University-approved exemption, this requirement does not apply to you. For more information on SCU’s vaccine requirements, read our COVID-19 vaccine FAQ.
STAFF PERFORMANCE REVIEWS
HR announced on February 10 that performance evaluation for the review period of April 1, 2021 - March 31, 2022, will launch in Workday on March 16 and will be due by April 29, 2022. To ensure the performance review for this year shows the correct goals, prior year goals need to be updated in Workday by March 11, 2022. Step by step instructions on how to update the goal status in Workday are found in the Performance: Goals user guide. If you have any questions, please contact your HR Partner.

STAFF ERGs
Have you heard from your Senator about the staff Employee Resource Groups/Affinity Groups (ERGs)? ERGs are voluntary employee-led groups whose aim is to foster a diverse, inclusive workplace aligned with the organizations they serve. The ERGs could use help with outreach, marketing, and membership. The Middle Eastern and North African ERG (MENA) and Indigenous/Native American ERG could use help with increasing their membership.
