Garden Facts

Learn more about the Saint Clare Garden, including its construction, creation, designer, donor, and gardener.

 

Bill Nicholson, a member of the Class of ’36 at Santa Clara University, and his children George, Bruce, Kathleen ’80, Mark, Martha, and John ’76, donated the St. Clare Garden to the university in loving memory of Ruth Nicholson. The garden was constructed in July, 2003, from construction plans drawn up by Susan Landry, at Sugimura & Associates Architects, Campbell, California. The planting design was by Nancy Lucid. Installation was done by Andre Vargas, California Green Landscaping & Maintenance, San Jose, California.
