Resiliency Bags

During the COVID-19 global pandemic, we pivoted our typical garden-based activities to the Resiliency Bags Program in order to maintain a strong and close connection to the families and children participating in our garden programs.

Many in our community have faced a myriad of challenges related to COVID-19, and Resiliency Bags was our way of responding to our most vulnerable community members. In mid-March 2020, our garden programs worked to address increased food insecurity through this project. With the help of volunteers, made up of dedicated faculty and staff, Resiliency Bags were delivered weekly to households throughout the San Jose area. Bags consisted of ForgeGarden-grown produce, pantry items, and family-friendly, environmental education-focused activities. We are so grateful for the time and financial support from our community that supported this important program.

We are seeking donations to purchase pantry items for our Resiliency Bags. Rather than shopping at big box stores, we buy items from local corner stores in the community where the bags are delivered. Give today!
