Kathryn Dickason received her Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Stanford University in 2016. She focuses on western medieval Christianity (c. 1200-1450), with particular interests in performance, ritual, iconography, gender, French literature, dance history, and medievalism. Her scholarly publications (past and forthcoming) appear in Cult/ure, European Drama and Performance Studies, Medieval Theatre Performance: Actors, Dancers, Automata, and their Audiences, The Futures of Dance Studies, Proceedings of the Society of Dance History Scholars, Encyclopedia of Society and Culture of the Medieval World, and Dante e l’Arte. Currently, she is preparing a book manuscript entitled Ringleaders of Redemption: How Medieval Dance Became Sacred.
