Please see below for updates on subsidized rides to vaccine appointments, summer testing plans, academic support services, and more.
Changes in Mask Requirements
Public health guidance is changing quickly and we will continue to provide current updates in the weekly email. A reminder that face coverings are required when indoors even if you are vaccinated - no exceptions. As previously announced, face coverings are no longer required outdoors when socially distanced.
Testing Updates
We remain gratified that our on-campus testing has turned up zero new positive cases since April 22. Keep up the good work! For summer term, COVID-19 testing will be provided in front of the Cowell Center one day a week. More information will be forthcoming.
Transportation
Santa Clara University is contracting with ride-hailing app Lyft for students to receive subsidized rides to vaccine appointments. Information on how to sign up for Lyft and receive a code for the ride will be sent via direct communication from Lyft.
Vax Verify
As of May 12, more than 1,400 students, faculty and staff have registered that they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. A reminder that those who register with Vax Verify must continue mandatory testing until three weeks after the date of their final vaccine dose. Thereafter, you are exempted from weekly testing. To verify your own vaccination through Vax Verify, bring a CDC vaccination card showing either two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, along with your SCU ID, to the Benson Memorial COVID testing center.
