Dear Students,
As we prepare to wrap up the academic year, we do so with extraordinary gratitude to each of you for your patience, flexibility, resilience, and grace during the past year. We would not be where we are today -- planning for a fall reopening -- without the support of the entire Bronco community.
This is the last Friday update for the academic year. Please read below for special hours during final exams, Celebrating the Class of 2021, Senior Survey, move-out information, and updates from the library.
Academic Advising
Today, June 4, is the deadline to withdraw from classes or change grading options to Pass / No Pass. Both steps can be completed using ecampus. Please contact the Drahmann Center with any questions, drahmanncenter@scu.edu.

Celebrating the Class of 2021: Join us in honoring the Class of 2021 at the June 12 Virtual Commencement, which will include a virtual conferring of degrees and other celebratory elements. The program (which will be under an hour) will start at noon PDT June 12 with pre-festivities beginning at 11:30 a.m. Members of the Class of 2021 and their families are invited to post pictures for a chance to be featured in the pre-show using hashtags #SCU2021 and #SCUSeniors. Watch for a detailed email going out early next week to seniors and their registered guests regarding the June 11 in-person celebration.
COVID-19 Testing and Information
COVID-19 testing will be available Monday to Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., during exam week in Parlor C in the Benson Center. You can still register your COVID-19 vaccination through the “Vax Verify” system in the COVID testing center as well. Thanks to all those who helped in our testing centers including our Health Ambassadors, EMTs and faculty experts such as Professor Kat Saxton who hosted her last episode for the year. For any questions throughout the summer, email the team at covid19@scu.edu.
The HUB Writing Center
The HUB will have some appointments—both synchronous and asynchronous— available during finals’ week. Availability goes quickly, so make sure you get your appointment scheduled soon. Access the appointment system through the HUB’s website, and check out our online resources as well.

If you have overdue items and are worried about fines, please return the items to the Library - you won't be charged any overdue fines on returned items. If you are currently living out of the area and need guidance on returning library materials, please contact the Library Help Desk at librarycirc@scu.edu/408-554-5020.
Office of Accessible Education
The goal of the Office of Accessible Education (OAE) remains to support SCU students with disabilities in participating fully in campus life, programs, and activities. Students interested in applying for accommodations are encouraged to visit our website to register. If you have any questions or to speak with an OAE staff, please email oae@scu.edu.
Off-Campus Student Information
Students who live in non-University off-campus housing are encouraged to work with their property managers and make arrangements for a safe move-out. The City of Santa Clara is having a special garbage collection (for a fee) in the neighborhood surrounding the SCU campus. This bulky-item collection service will take place on June 15 and June 23.
Safety
We continue to monitor pending state regulations which will guide our summer return plans, and which will be communicated soon. From now through June 15, indoor masking and social distancing are still required, regardless of vaccination status. Masks are not required outdoors, except for certain large-scale gatherings such as the commencement processions. Those who are not vaccinated are required to be tested weekly while on campus.
Senior Survey
All graduating seniors are reminded to please complete the online College Student Survey. This survey is part of a national study conducted by the Higher Education Research Institute and UCLA. It will help us to evaluate how well Santa Clara has achieved its goals as a Jesuit institution and, at the same time, how well it has helped you reach your educational objectives. Check your e-mail for your invitation – we ask that you complete the survey before graduation.
Spring 2021 Move Out
All undergraduate residence halls close on Friday, June 11 at 9 a.m. As many classes and finals are virtual, students may check out at any time before 9 a.m. on June 11.
Students who have petitioned and fulfilled the requirements for graduation and those approved for on-campus summer housing will receive an automatic extension of the move-out deadline, and must check out by Sunday, June 13 at noon. Dining services will have two venues open in the Benson Memorial Center until 3 p.m. on Friday, June 11.
All personal items must be removed from your assigned space at time of check out. Students must complete the Check-Out Agreement located in the Housing Portal via eCampus as soon as they have vacated their space. After completing the checkout process, students are no longer authorized to remain in their building or occupy their assigned space. For more information, please visit the Undergraduate Move-Out section of the housing website.
Summer Sessions
Students are able to enroll in summer classes until the last day to add a summer class as noted on the Summer Sessions 2021 calendar. Beginning June 1, payment of all costs is required before Santa Clara will register students for their summer courses. Please contact One Stop (408-551-1000 or onestop@scu.edu) for assistance.
Pass/No Pass Policy
Pass/No Pass (P/NP) will return to the standard policy this summer. Students may take one summer class on a P/NP basis. Information about the policy is available in the 2020-2021 Undergraduate Bulletin. The deadlines to declare P/NP for summer classes are posted on the Summer Sessions 2021 calendar.
Mission Church
An in-person, outdoor, Sunday Mass for students will be celebrated at 5 p.m. at the Mission Church this Sunday, June 6. This will be the last student Sunday Mass until September. A special blessing of graduating students will be included at the end, so we specially invite all seniors to attend.
Reconciliation will be available this Sunday from 4 to 4:45 p.m. near the bell tower of the Mission.
Throughout the summer, there will be a 10 a.m. Sunday morning Mass celebrated inside the Mission. Preregistration will be required each week for these Masses. In the fall, we plan to return to the pre-pandemic schedule of Sunday student Masses at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
For weekday night Masses and other programs sponsored by Campus Ministry, please see the Campus Ministry website or the Get Connected website.
A reminder to continue to consult our Prepared SCU website and its regularly updated “frequently asked questions” section.
Enjoy a safe and happy summer!
