Ethics at Noon

The Markkula Center for Applied Ethics sponsors the Ethics at Noon lecture series. These lunch-hour programs provide a forum for SCU faculty members and other experts to explore ethical issues in many fields.

Book of the Quarter: God's Hotel with author Dr. Victoria Sweet

This year's Fall Book of the Quarter is God's Hotel by Dr. Victoria Sweet. Dr. Sweet tells the story of San Francisco's Laguna Honda Hospital, the last almshouse in the country and a descendant of the Hotel-Dieu that cared for the sick in the Middle Ages.  This event will feature Dr. Sweet in-person, in conversation with SCU Associate Professor of Biology and Director of the Biotechnology Program, Dr. Angel Islas and SCU student Alana Hinkston.
