- World Cup, Local Heart: The World Cup kicked off today, and Oakland’s Neighborhood Sports Club is already scoring with fans. Founded by Dylan Autran ’15, Jordan Jesolva ’17, and Max Ornstil ’16, this month-old soccer hotspot is part café, part pitch, part retail store, and all community.
- Seal of Approval: When a viral monk seal incident made national headlines, Maui Mayor Richard T. Bissen Jr. ’83 addressed concerns around protecting Hawai‘i’s wildlife and community. Public service, apparently, also includes handling celebrity seal drama.
- Broncos in the Tank: Three teams of SCU students drew attention—and accolades—at a “Shark Tank”-style competition hosted by the San Jose Sharks. They pitched ideas to bring visually impaired fans and cultural groups closer to the game.
